ImproveWell acknowledges Ockenden Report Assurance Committee progress at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust

4 April 2023, London (UK): ImproveWell LTD (“ImproveWell” or “the Company”), the award-winning real-time feedback solution for improvement, acknowledges the latest Ockenden Report Assurance Committee progress at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (“SaTH” or “the Trust”).

The Ockenden review of maternity services at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust was published 10 December 2020.  This report covered the emerging themes and trends identified from 250 fully assessed cases and made system-wide suggestions and recommendations for action to improve maternity care.  The second and final report was published on 30 March 2022.  Since the publication of the first report, the Government has introduced a range of measures and invested very significantly in supporting maternity services across the country.

Since the beginning of 2022, SaTH has implemented several different and accessible ways for maternity staff to give their views directly so they can be assured they are being listened to.  ImproveWell was introduced to capture staff feedback 24/7.  The views of staff are fed back through the Maternity Transformation Programme, in which culture is a core workstream.  Insights from ImproveWell form a core part of the Governance and Assurance processes for the Ockenden Report Assurance Committee (ORAC).

In the most recent ORAC meeting, SaTH has delivered 77% (162/210) of its actions from the first and final Ockenden Reports, putting it ahead of its projected delivery schedule for March 2023.  The meeting notes state that “ImproveWell has been introduced in Maternity Services. ImproveWell is a digital engagement platform that enables colleagues on the ‘shop-floor’ to share their feedback and improvement ideas. The app provides a conduit for staff voices to be heard and for meaningful change”.
