28 May 2020

28 May 2020, London (UK): ImproveWell LTD (“ImproveWell” or “the Company”) is proud to have supported the frontline workforce at the NHS Nightingale Hospital London (“Nightingale London”); one of several sites providing surge capacity across England as the health service responds to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On 24 March, the government announced it would turn the ExCeL Centre in London’s Docklands area into a temporary hospital to manage patients affected by COVID-19.  The flagship Nightingale London formally opened on 3 April, bringing together a workforce from NHS organisations across London and beyond.

Nightingale London fostered a culture of rapid learning and education, utilising the best digital tools to capture real-time data to improve service delivery. The ImproveWell solution, which utilises a smartphone app to capture feedback from the frontline workforce, gathered critical insights 24/7 from staff shift surveys and suggestions for improvement.

As of 13 May, collectively the Quality and Learning team actioned over 366 changes from its data feeds to improve the experience on the ground at Nightingale London. Core themes derived from the ImproveWell data dashboard included making staff feel valued and supported, on-site logistics and operational efficiencies.

Dr Dominique Allwood and Jenny Shand, Co-Leads of the Quality and Learning team at NHS Nightingale Hospital London, commented: “The ImproveWell solution was rapidly deployed and provided real-time feedback from the frontline. It was an essential tool to give all staff a voice in a dynamic, time-limited and high-pressure environment and was fundamental in enabling the Quality and Learning team to support the workforce, patients and their families. The insights from our frontline colleagues have been invaluable and have helped us to better support them in providing outstanding care to our patients.

“We are currently on standby as the NHS moves into the second phase of its response to the global pandemic. We’d like to thank the ImproveWell team for mobilising so quickly, and for their continued support.”

Lara Mott, CEO and Co-founder of ImproveWell, said: “We are privileged to support the Nightingale London team during this unprecedented time. Gathering real-time insights from those at the sharp end of delivering care to patients is pivotal in driving improvement and is more important than ever.

“We continue to be inspired by the NHS and are proud that the ImproveWell solution can empower the frontline workforce to improve staff experience and service delivery in healthcare organisations.”

About ImproveWell

A more engaged workforce leads to better patient outcomes and improved performance. Designed by healthcare, for healthcare, ImproveWell is a digital solution focused on Quality Improvement (QI) which empowers frontline staff to drive change. It gives all staff a voice, helping leaders to improve staff experience and the quality of patient care.

ImproveWell has three core feedback systems: staff can share theme-based improvement ideas; staff can share how their day at work is going, helping organisations track workforce sentiment; and staff can complete bespoke pulse surveys. An intelligent data dashboard allows programme leads to capture real-time data, prioritise QI efforts, measure change and publish reports, completing the feedback loop. From the ward to the board, everyone can make suggestions to improve their workplace. For further information, please visit www.improvewell.com.
